Will Merry is a driven and accomplished student completing a Bachelors (in Robotics Engineering) and Masters (in Artificial Intelligence) Degree concurrently at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). With a passion for innovation and a keen interest in robotics and computer systems, Will has made significant strides in his academic and professional journey. An inventor and engineer, Will was awarded the prestigious 2023 Kalenian Award for SoloPlane. This recognition speaks to his exceptional talent and ingenuity in the engineering field. Will's journey in engineering and technology began in middle school when he joined a Science Olympiad Team. Over three consecutive years, his team emerged as state champions, and his personal dedication to excellence earned him the national championship for designing an exceptional hovercraft. Throughout his academic career, Will has engaged in research and undertaken numerous hands-on projects, showcasing his versatility and adaptability in tackling engineering challenges. One of his most cherished endeavors was the design and implementation of a hospital management system for Brigham and Women's Hospital, demonstrating his commitment to using technology for the betterment of society. Outside of his studies, Will finds joy in exploring his interests and hobbies. An avid sailor, he embraces the spirit of adventure and teamwork that sailing entails. Moreover, music plays an integral part in his life, where he actively participates in playing instruments, fostering his creativity and artistic expression. As Will continues to excel in his studies and professional endeavors, he remains committed to pushing the boundaries of technology and making a positive impact on the world through his engineering prowess and innovative mindset.
